There’s been excellent progress on the java-gnome front which, as usual, I’ve said nothing about in my blog so far. I’ve decided to do a little more work on java-gnome; and so have lots of other developers. We’re amking a lot of progresss. We’ve moved the website to a wiki, which is now getting updated more, being used for development planning and also being used to write new documentation. We finally have a bugzilla account. This makes life so much easier and we’re even starting to fix some of the issues. As a result of my email and previous blog post, I’ve found out that actually lots of people are now using java-gnome. One aspect I find particularly interesting is that it is being used in corporate environments — this is and area where gnome is lacking due to a lack of development tools. Java-gnome, glade and eclipse seem to be filling this gap. We’ve even now got people working on integrating the projects even more, which promises excellent results. Packages are going to be created for most distributions and we even have java-gnome running on windows. We still have a lot of work to do, for which more help would most definitely be appreciated, but progress over the past two weeks has been amazing.
